Course Goal / Objective

To inform the students about the general topics given within the scope of the course and to gain perspective.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, compact information about pharmaceutical chemistry practices will be given. It covers topics such as laboratory instruments and techniques, separation-purification methods, general synthesis information, functional groups in drugs and organic compounds, instrumental analysis techniques (IR, NMR, UV, etc.), titrimetric drug quantification.

LO01 Learns the separation and purification techniques used in the pharmaceutical synthesis laboratory.
LO02 Learns functional groups in drugs and interprets their analysis .
LO03 Knows how instrumental analysis techniques are used in drug structure analysis and can perform spectrum analysis.
LO04 Learns the fundamentals of titrimetry and understands the quantification approaches with the titrimetric method.
LO05 The participant will have information about how the theoretical knowledge is applied in the laboratory environment with e-Lab (experimental videos) on topics such as synthesis, functional analysis, UV analysis and titrimetry within the scope of the course.
