Course Goal / Objective
Pharmacognosy being one of the disciplines of pharmacy aims to develop a clear understanding of natural products (found in plants,fungi,marine organism and others) that are used therapeutically in medicine
Course Content
Pharmacognosy II course covers introduction to alkaloids, protoalkaloids, pyridine and piperidine, tropane, pyrrolizidine, quinolizidine, quinoline, isoquinoline, indole, purine bases, steroidal alkaloids and diterpene alkaloids and pharmacognostic evaluation of drugs containing them.
