Course Goal / Objective
Introducing greenhouse vegetable growing systems and teaching their functioning principles
Course Content
Definition of protected agriculture. Classification of protected cultivation systems, greenhouse and tunnel statistics in the world and in Turkey, differences in temperate and cold climate greenhouses, differences in greenhouse and tunnel cultivation, classification of greenhouses according to their structural features, ecological and economic factors that are effective when choosing a greenhouse location, climatization factors (heating, cooling, relative humidity, lighting, CO2 fertilisation) of greenhouse vegetables, soil processing in greenhouses (disenfection, organic matter, salinity), prensibles of pruning, fertilization, irrigation, pollination, of greenhouse vegetables, prensibles of soilless cultivation in greenhouses are taught in this course.
