Course Goal / Objective

The aim is for students to understand the art of landscape architecture from the settled period to the present day, through examples and design styles.

Course Content

Garden designs in antiquity, Babylon, Egypt, Persia, Ancient Greece and Rome. Medieval European gardens, medieval castles and monastery gardens. Renaissance and Baroque gardens. Spanish-Islamic gardens. Naturalistic English gardens. Gardens of the Far East and the USA. Turkish gardens.
