Teaching valid methods for measuring structural and functional characteristics of athlete performance.

Course Content

Measurement of energy capacities and personal differences Anaerobic power and capacity Biological indicators for anaerobic power: Blood lactate level and Muscle glycogen consumption Tests to determine aerobic capacity Measurement of cardiorespiratory function capacities: Maximal Oxygen Consumption (VO2max) tests Cardiovascular system functional capacity: Cardiac Output, exercise and rest Distribution of cardiac output in this situation. Measurement of lung volumes and capacities. Strength measurements: Dynamometer and single repetition maximum power Common techniques for determining body composition: Lean and fat body mass, body mass index Sikinfold, circumference and anthropometric measurements.
