Course Goal / Objective
To provide the infrastructure that students should have during their vocational education on textile design by making use of textile science. Explaining the development process of textile technology, textile design and textile pattern styles to students in a chronological manner. In addition, it is aimed to convey the materials, techniques, concepts, cultural interaction, art movements, technological developments and changes, artistic analyzes used in the production process, especially the weaving and printing techniques, which are the basis of textiles, in the historical process, supported by visual presentations.

Textile in ancient times. Textile in the Middle Ages. Textile industry in the New Age. Industrial Revolution. Steam machine. Textile industry and England. Competition in the textile industry. Ottoman weaving and textile industry. Weaving industry in Bursa and Denizli cities. Ottoman textile industry in the Tanzimat period. The first Ottoman weaving factories. Ottoman textile industry during the Constitutional Monarchy.
