Course Goal / Objective

Introducing the student to exhaust emissions and systems that reduce them

Course Content

Fuels, Combustion, Exhaust Emissions, Emission Measurement, Effects of Different Operating Conditions on Emissions in Diesel Engine Vehicles, Effects of Different Operating Conditions on Emissions in Gasoline and LPG Engine Vehicles, Emission Reducing Systems in Motor Vehicles, 2 and 3 Way Catalytic Converters, Particle Filters, Crankcase Ventilation System, EGR System, Effects of EGR System on Emissions, Technological Developments in Diesel Fuel Injection Systems, Carbon Canister Valve, Exhaust Additional Air Systems
