Course Goal / Objective

Aim of this lecture is to comprehend the importance of our natural resources for both our world and country by introducing our country's flora

Course Content

Information about angiosperm flower, fruit and seed,Definition and history of systematics, artificial, natural and phylogenetic system methods,Systematic categories , Important features in Systematics related to vegetative and generative organs, Common properties of Angiosperm with seedless plants Gymnospermae: General properties, introduction of ordos Detailed investigation of Ordo: Coniferales: Araucariaceae, Pinaceae (Abitioideae ve Pinoideae), Detailed introduction of coniferous plants growing in our country, some coniferous plant samples that is widespread in world, Introduction of widespread species of Abies , Cedrus, Picea, Tsuga, Larix,Taxodiaceae (Sequoia, Taxodium), Cupressaceae, Thuja, Juniperus growing in Turkey Podocarpaceae, Taxaceae, Cephalotaxaceae Properties of Gnetales Ordo and its families (İntroduction of and of genus of Ephedraceae, Gnetaceae, Welwitshiaceae Angiosperm General properties, advantages of angiosperma compared to gymnosperm. Properties and some genus and species of Fabaceae, Punicaceae, Myrtaceae, Capparidaceae, Papaveraceae, Resedaceae, Brassicaceae, Cistaceae, Tamaricaceae, Violaceae, Passifloraceae, Droseraceae, Theaceae, Hypericaceae, Malvaceae, Tiliaceae, Liliaceae, Geraniaceae were explained in this lecture. Rutaceae given examples from some monocotyledon families exception of these families.
