Course Goal / Objective

The course aims to teach General Principles of Notification Law

Course Content

This course will focus on procedures of notification under Turkish law and deals with importance and content of notification, types of notification, notification to legal persons and gives knowledge about main issues of notification law, acts and applications.

Course Learning Outcomes

LO01 Students will be able to define notification and list the types of notification (e.g. official notification, private notification).
LO02 Students will be able to explain the role and importance of notification in the functioning of the legal process.
LO03 Students will be able to correctly apply the notification procedures required in a case proceeding.
LO04 Students will be able to analyze the legal issues that arise in relation to the validity of a notification and discuss the consequences if the notification is made incorrectly.
LO05 By combining different methods and forms of notification, students can develop a notification strategy appropriate to a specific situation.
LO06 Students evaluate the effectiveness and legal consequences of notification procedures and explain which method would be more appropriate in certain situations.
LO07 Students list the legal conditions necessary for the validity of the notice (e.g. the manner of service, timing, methods of reaching the recipient).
LO08 Students can reflect on understanding the legal consequences of service of process (e.g. time to file a lawsuit, time to appeal) and discuss the impact of these consequences on the progress of cases.
