Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course; The aim is to strengthen the design-theory relationship by reading and analyzing architectural books/buildings in order to increase design awareness by focusing the architectural knowledge and experience of the student enrolled in the doctoral program on the theoretical infrastructure of current and contemporary products. It is aimed to produce theoretical context content through the theoretical background of architectural designs, books containing architectural theories and architectural products considered masterpieces, to contribute to the reading comprehension and interpretation skills of researchers, and to raise awareness by examining the theoretical context of today's contemporary architectural products.

Course Content

As an important component of design, theory is as important as the design dimension of architecture and architectural products. Trying to understand the theoretical context of today's contemporary architectural products is a prerequisite for examining design and its achievements. This course includes reading and analyzing architectural books and buildings with a focus on raising design awareness through contemporary and contemporary productions of architectural knowledge and experience.
