Course Goal / Objective

The main aim of the course is to explain the market and public failures and to understand the state's intervention in the economy and the necessity of regulation.

Course Content

It includes the concept of regulation, its reasons, types, theories and methods, the concept of deregulation and regulation in various sectors.

LO07 Evaluates the effects of different regulations in each sector on the economy by focusing on the applications of regulation in various sectors such as energy, health, transport and communication.

LO09 Analyses the effects of regulations on income distribution, inequality and social welfare
