Course Goal / Objective
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the properties, performance requirements, and areas of use of finishing materials such as metals, natural stones, glass, ceramics, concrete, polymers, and wood, as well as insulation materials and the relevant standards and regulations.
Course Content
In the context of the importance of the relationship between structure, material, and design in architecture, the course content includes the introduction of the basic properties of building materials, the explanation of the mechanical, physical, and technological properties of building materials, the discussion on the usage areas of materials in buildings such as metal, natural stone, fired clay (ceramics), concrete, glass, wood, and plastic based on their functional properties, and the explanation of the physical, mechanical, and technological properties of insulation materials as well as the standards and the regulations related to insulation materials.
