Course Goal / Objective

The general purpose of this course is to improve the knowledge and skills of architecture students in understanding the principles of structural system selection in reinforced concrete structures, learning and using the concepts of bearing capacity method and ensuring safety in this method, and calculating columns, beams and foundations in the bearing capacity method.

Course Content

The content of this course includes general properties of concrete, steel and reinforced concrete building materials, structural system arrangement principles in reinforced concrete systems, loads, bearing capacity calculation and sizing principles of axially loaded elements (columns), bearing capacity calculation and sizing principles of elements under simple bending effect (beams), carrying capacity calculation and sizing principles of foundations will be given.
