Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to develop the skills of architecture students in defining the relationship between Ecology and Architecture, discussing design decisions that can be taken for energy sensitivity in architectural design, determining appropriate methods and techniques for environmental and energy sensitivity in building form and space organization, researching, analyzing and synthesizing the interaction of ecology - energy - architecture - artificial environment, and acquiring the theoretical knowledge required for designers in environmental and energy sensitivity.

Course Content

The content of this course includes the necessity and importance of environmentally and energy-sensitive designs in architecture according to today's conditions, ecological designs and energy conservation issues in the field of architecture discipline, how to interpret the potential of utilizing renewable energy sources in architectural artificial environments from a theoretical perspective in stages such as space organization, building envelope, building material and how to use them in design, while sample designs are also included depending on regional climate characteristics.
