Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to increase the knowledge of students about building energy performance regulations in Turkey and the world, current green building certification programs, and to provide basic level learning of energy simulation (Insight energy analysis (Revit add-on) and Equest) programs, and to provide skills in geometric modeling and simulation.

Course Content

The content of this course includes the examination of building energy performance assessment tools and the BEP regulation in Turkey, green building regulations and certification programs abroad, transfer of information on ensuring energy optimization in buildings, analysis of green building certification programs in the context of sustainable architecture, development of students' building energy modeling skills, presentation and discussion of research on the analysis of green building examples and green building certificates, and the use of Revit and Equest energy analysis programs.
