Course Goal / Objective

This course develops skills in building energy modeling and performance analysis using DesignBuilder software and learns fundamental energy modeling concepts, explores the impact of design decisions on energy efficiency, and applies simulation techniques to optimize building performance. The course focuses on conducting energy consumption analysis, thermal comfort assessments, and daylighting studies while integrating passive design strategies and renewable energy solutions. By the end of the course, it helps to be proficient in using DesignBuilder to evaluate and enhance the sustainability of architectural and engineering projects.

Course Content

This course provides an in-depth exploration of Design Builder software for building design and performance simulation. Students will learn how to utilize Design Builder to model, analyze, and optimize building designs, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability. The course includes practical exercises, real-world case studies, and project work to apply theoretical knowledge effectively.
