Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to develop students' knowledge and skills in defining the relationship between sustainability and ecology and architecture, discussing sustainable design decisions that can be taken for environmental sensitivity in architectural design, determining appropriate methods and techniques for environmental and energy sensitivity in the design, implementation and usage stages of architectural products, researching architectural artificial environment designs in society/environment/economy interaction, and using environmental, climate and geographical data as designers in environmentally sensitive and sustainable design.

Course Content

This course covers climatic elements in the built environment using the Climate Consultant program, the application of climatic elements in sustainable architectural design, as well as sustainability principles, global resources, design for human health, strategies for sustainable buildings and cities, architectural efficiency, and zero-energy building design concepts.
