Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to provide an understanding of the biological and physiological foundations of animal behavior (ethology), analyze behavioral differences among species, and evaluate genetic, environmental, and social factors influencing behavior. Additionally, it aims to establish the relationship between animal welfare and behavior, identify abnormal behaviors, and develop solutions for them.
Course Content
This course covers the physiological and genetic foundations of animal behavior, the relationship between the nervous system and behavior, species-specific behavioral differences, circadian rhythms, sleep and thermoregulation behaviors, learning mechanisms in animals, social behaviors, abnormal behaviors, and stress factors. Additionally, the relationship between animal welfare and behavior will be addressed, along with management and treatment strategies for behavioral disorders.
