Course Goal / Objective

To be able to analyze the nature of education based on the views on the philosophy of education, to evaluate the problems between theory and practice at the individual and social level and to take a critical attitude; To be able to establish the relations between the aims of human beings and the style and direction of education through historical and contemporary debates.

Course Content

The relationship of education with various concepts as a philosophical problem area has been mentioned. Along with the subject of what the philosophy of education is, various educational philosophies and the educational philosophy currents that emerged from them are included, primarily based on the views of some philosophers. Finally, the applications of the views on the philosophy of education are discussed in three parts: the pre-Republican period, the Republican period and the present.
