Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach students the written texts of Uighur period of Old Turkish, phonetics, morphology, vocabulary etc. to introduce aspects.

Course Content

In this course, the Uighurs (reigning period, geography, political and administrative structure, belief systems), the alphabets used by Uighurs, the evaluation of Uighur language in terms of language features, the general view of Uighur literature and the introduction of Buddhist Uighur texts and the emergence of Uighur texts and Uighur texts, on Uighur Uighur texts in terms of sound and structural knowledge (Altun Yaruk, Good and Bad Prince Story, Buddhist Uighur poetry and non-religious products) are described.

Text Publications: The Story of the Kalyanamkara and Papamkara, Altun Yaruk, Manichaean Uyghur texts, poems from Buddhist and Manichaean Uighurs, texts on non-religious themes.

Notes

Dictionaries: Etymological dictionaries of M. Rasanen, G. Clauson and H. Eren, Drevnetyurskiy Slovar and other dictionaries prepared by Nadalyaev etc., articles on etymology and vocabulary of the period.
