Course Goal / Objective

The definition and functions of insurance, agricultural activities agricultural properties and relationship with agricultural insurance schemes, insurance management, agriculture insurance legislation and institutional structure improvements, Evaluation of Turkey in terms of agirculture insurance

Course Content

To provide information about risk management tools in agriculture and insurance applications, risk measurement, applications and characteristics of agricultural risks insurance in developed and developing countries, insurance mathematics, damage assessment techniques and organizations, state supporting systems, and insurance organization; to meet the needs for technical personnel, expert at agricultural insurance of public sector, specifically private insurance companies, and agricultural cooperatives; to give theoretical and practical background knowledge to enable the graduates to do agricultural insurance expertize, which is carried out as independent business in the insurance field; to teach the principles of forming political priorities in developing agricultural insurance at macro level and to discuss these with the participants.
