Course Goal / Objective
In this course, it is aimed to examine the social effects of new media, digital culture, social media, network society, digital activism and new media ethics from a critical perspective.
Course Content
In this course, new media concepts, the effects of digital culture on individual, society and identity construction, communication styles and social effects of social media platforms, the relationship between network society and globalisation, information production processes, digital capitalism, democracy and freedom of expression, disinformation and manipulation strategies, privacy, surveillance, data security, individual and social effects of algorithms and artificial intelligence-based content will be covered.
