Course Goal / Objective
It aims to comprehensively address the biology, culture techniques and environmental requirements of fish species raised in warm climate regions. In this course, basic topics such as adaptation mechanisms, feeding strategies, reproductive biology and disease management of warm water fish will be examined. In addition, issues such as the effects of climate change on culture, sustainable production methods and economic feasibility will be evaluated. The main objective of the course is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on warm climate fish culture and to contribute to the development of the sector and sustainable aquaculture practices.
Course Content
The biology, farming techniques and environmental requirements of fish species cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions are comprehensively covered. The physiological adaptations, growth performances, reproductive biology and feeding strategies of warm water fish will be examined in detail. In addition, topics such as farming systems, water quality management, disease control and sustainable production techniques will be covered. The effects of climate change on warm climate fish and the future of the sector will also be discussed. The course aims to provide students with sector-focused knowledge and skills by supporting theoretical knowledge with case studies and practical studies.
