Course Goal / Objective

To understand the function and importance of measurement and evaluation in Turkish teaching, to specify the purposes for which different types of exams can be used, to recognize measurement tools based on traditional and alternative measurement and evaluation approaches, to prepare measurement tools to evaluate four language skills, to explain the basic features of Bloom and Barrett taxonomies, to understand the steps of Bloom and Barrett taxonomies. Designing questions at different appropriate levels.

Course Content

Basic concepts in measurement and evaluation; The function of measurement and evaluation in Turkish teaching, measurement and evaluation techniques/tools based on traditional approaches (written exams, short-answer exams, true-false type tests, multiple choice tests, paired tests, oral probes), alternative measurement (oriented to getting to know the student in many ways). evaluation techniques/tools (observation, interview, performance evaluation, student portfolio, research projects, peer evaluation, self-evaluation, attitude scales); Evaluating Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills; Bloom and Barrett taxonomies, preparing exams in line with different taxonomies.
