Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to discuss how audiovisual materials are handled in social science disciplines such as sociology and history, why audiovisual production in the scientific field or the use of images as historical documents has not been respected for a long time and how this situation has transformed over time.
Course Content
This course offers an introduction to the following issues: basic concepts related to visual culture, methods in interpreting visual material, relation of text and image, nature of technical and digital images.
