Course Goal / Objective
To give information about the historical development and engineering applications of powder metallurgy. To explain the basic methods and techniques of metal powder and metal powder production To explain the methods used in the characterization of the powder and powder mixture Usage the pressing techniques used in the powder metallurgy method
Course Content
Introduction to powder metallurgy and definitions. Fabrication techniques of metal powders. Powder characterization and testing. The measurement of particle specifications. Particle packing charaterictics. Methods of compaction. Particle deformation and densification under pressure. Density-pressure relations. Density and stress distribution in compacts.
