Course Goal / Objective

To give information about structure and mechanical behavior of textile fibers and polymers. Giving information about optical properties of fibers, effect of water on fibers, the interaction of fibers with temperature.

Course Content

Definitions and Classification. Polymers and their properties. Structure of Textile Fibers. Analysis of Mechanical Behavior. Application of force in different directions to textile fibers. Elastic Recovery Behavior of Fibers. Mechanisms Formed as Deformation in Fibers. Optical Properties of Fibers. Effect of water on textile fibers. Interaction of fibers with temperature.
