Course Goal / Objective

To create awareness on rural women and gender issue which is very important part of rural development program and to make gender analysis on different subjects (migration, employment, gender roles, education etc. )

Course Content

Rural development definition, historical development of gender issue, theory of gender, gender issue with socio-economic and demographic indicators (education, employment, division of labor, entrepreneurship, social security, participation to local and national administration and policy, migration, marriage etc), patterns of gender in different country group, gender relation in agricultural activities (production, re-production, marketing and division of labor), gender and using/ management of natural resources , awareness of gender in public and private sector and capacity building programs, rural women and rural development program in Turkey (public and private).
