Course Goal / Objective

To educate individuals who can evaluate agricultural and food policies in terms of international dependence and relations and make policy choices under global constraints.

Course Content

The reasons and importance of international trade; Foreign trade theories; Foreign trade interventions and national justifications; Production, consumption and trade of agricultural and food commodities in terms of international dependence; Agricultural policies and world markets, interaction through trade; Agriculture and food commodities trade and lessdeveloped countries; Agricultural protectionism and measurement problem; Effective institutions, treaties and organizations in international agricultural relations.
