Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to help prospective psychologists develop the habit of evaluating the claims in the media and popular psychology books from the perspective of scientific psychology and to distinguish between scientific and pseudoscientific claims in psychology.

Course Content

Critically examining the claims and beliefs in the media and popular psychology books that are widely believed but are incompatible with the science of psychology and have no empirical basis constitute the content of this course.
