Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to analyze the past and present of the press in the context of political, social and economic developments. Thus, it is aimed to understand the important turning points in the history of the Turkish press, to comprehend the periodic relations between the press and the government from different perspectives, to realize the social role of the press and to evaluate this role in terms of political economy.
Course Content
This course covers the emergence, development and the history of the daily press from the Ottoman Empire until today. And legal and constitutional regulations on the press are explained in the course.
