Course Goal / Objective

The course aims to define the fundamental concepts of creative and cultural industries and discuss existing theories and approaches. It focuses on evaluating the practices of creative and cultural industries in Turkey and other countries, examining the practices of cultural diplomacy, discussing Turkey's cultural policies, and analyzing the current state of the media sector.

Course Content

The course examines the history and practices of creative and cultural industries in different countries and Turkey, utilizing reports and documents from institutions that produce content and policies related to these industries. Turkey's cultural policies are discussed, and interviews are conducted with actors in the media sector regarding labor processes in Turkey's creative and cultural industries. The business models of the media sector are evaluated, current issues in the media sector are discussed, and solutions are developed.
