Course Goal / Objective
This course aims to help students learn the basic concepts of data science in next generation journalism, use data analysis techniques and tools, and transform big data into news stories.
Course Content
In this course, data collection and cleaning, data analysis techniques, statistical analysis, data visualisation, advanced data analysis with Tableau, big data and journalism, data-based storytelling, open data sources, ethical data use and data journalism practices will be covered.
