Course Goal / Objective

This course includes texts on social change and development , theoretical approaches, development and rating the growth , experimental studies on the relationships between the different dimensions of development, progress and world systems.

Course Content

The aim of this course is to make the students understand the sociological dimensions of social change and development, the elements of social change and development, compare countries in terms of social change and development, analyze social change and the development of a country.

LO07 By explaining Durkheim and Weber's understanding of social change, one can evaluate the applicability of these approaches to contemporary societies.
LO08 By comparing the concepts of development and improvement, one can explain their place in social change processes.
LO09 Discuss the effects of current factors such as globalization, technology and digitalization on social change.
LO10 By analyzing past and present social change processes, inferences can be made about possible future social transformations.
