Course Goal / Objective

To be able to discuss science and basic concepts (phenomenon, knowledge, absolute, error, universal fact etc.), basics of history of science, Being able to discuss and use structure of scientific research, scientific methods and different perspectives about scientific methods, problem, research model, sampling, data collection, methods in data collection (quantitative and qualitative methods), analysis, interpretation of data and reporting.

Course Content

In this course, the basic concepts of science and the scientific research process are discussed and the history of science and the philosophy of science are examined. The nature of science, scientific method and different perspectives on scientific method will be emphasized. Within the scope of the course, basic elements such as the structure of scientific research, determination of the research problem, research model, population and sample selection will be covered. Data collection and analysis processes, presentation, interpretation and reporting of the data obtained are among the important topics of the course.
