Course Goal / Objective
Using the basic concepts of special education correctly; explaining the historical process of special education; knowing the legal legislation in the field; Evaluation of students with special needs, preparing individual education programs and understanding the mainstreaming process; Recognize the definition and characteristics of intellectual disability, hearing impairment, visual impairment, physical disabilities/continuous diseases, language and speech disorder, learning disability, emotional behavior disorder, autistic disorder, multiple disability or giftedness, and the educational approaches of students with these characteristics, To raise individuals who can make educational arrangements for students.
Course Content
Basic concepts of special education; principles and historical development of special education; legal regulations on special education; diagnosis and evaluation in special education; individualization of teaching; mainstreaming and support special education services; participation of the family in education and cooperation with the family; characteristics of different disability and ability groups; educational approaches and teaching strategies for different groups; effective strategies and behavior management in classroom management.
