Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with a conceptual understanding of the structural and functional elements of local governments, procurement processes, audit mechanisms, personnel management and decision-making processes.
Course Content
This course covers the conceptual structure of local government. The scope of the course includes unitary state, administrative and political decentralisation, procurement procedures, local government unions, public financial management, audit mechanisms, personnel management, participation in decision-making processes and the impact of the European Union.
