Course Goal / Objective

To provide students with an advanced understanding of colloidal systems, acid-base equilibria, hydrolysis reactions, chemical equilibrium principles, and advanced treatment processes, enabling them to apply these concepts in environmental engineering practices.

Course Content

Fundamental properties of colloidal systems and their significance in environmental engineering, acid-base equilibria and buffer solutions, hydrolysis mechanisms and their role in water chemistry, chemical equilibrium and thermodynamic relationships, advanced oxidation processes, membrane technologies and advanced treatment methods, complex formation, and precipitation mechanisms.

Course Precondition

Students are expected to have a fundamental understanding of environmental chemistry, chemical equilibrium, and water chemistry.
