Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to enable students to gain awareness of ethical problems they may encounter in their professional lives by introducing them to ethical concepts, ethical systems and moral values. It also aims to act in accordance with the rules of professional ethics, evaluate the consequences of unethical behavior and develop approaches to prevent professional corruption.
Course Content
Ethics and Moral Concepts – Definition, similarities and differences of ethics and morality. Ethical Systems – Deontological, teleological and utilitarian ethical approaches. Professional Ethics – Ethical rules and practices in different professional groups. Unethical Behaviors in Professional Life – Corruption, bribery, fraud and unethical practices. Professional Ethics and Law – Legal consequences of professional ethics violations. Case Studies – Real-life ethical dilemmas and solutions. Professional Responsibility and Social Responsibility – The relationship between social ethical rules and professional ethics.
