Course Goal / Objective
The aim of this course is to give basic information about mycorrhizae and its ecology.
Course Content
The plant roots provide an ecological feeding environment of abundant microorganisms in the soil. In natural ecosystems, most of the root system can be colonized by mycorrhizal fungi. In order to survive in the ecosystem of microorganisms, the basic energy source of the organism is provided by establishing a semiotic relationship with the plant roots. Mycorrhiza species and ecological relationships will be discussed in the course. The basic types of mycorrhiza and relation with trap plants, soil and climate will be discussed. In addition, the effect of various stress factors on microorganism and mycorrhizae food intake will be discussed. The distribution of mycorrhizal fungi on the surface and the soil and climate conditions in which this distribution is affected are examined. The importance of mycorrhiza in the resistance of plants against environmental factors and stress factors are studied. Effects of metal toxicity, water stress, salinity stress against the importance of mycorrhiza is processed taking into account in the ecological parameters.
