Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the necessary concepts by defining the physics of diagnostic radiology and to provide knowledge on radiation protection in diagnostic radiology.

Course Content

Definition and Scope of Radiology, Radiation Quantities and Units, Biological Effects of Radiation, Basics of Radiation Protection, Radiological Devices for Diagnostic Purposes, Radiation Dose Measurements in Diagnostic Radiology, Quality Control Methods in Diagnostic Radiology, Imaging with X-rays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound Imaging, Radionuclide Imaging, Patient and Employee Radiation Doses in Diagnostic Radiology, Radiation Safety in Diagnostic Radiology.
