Course Goal / Objective

The objective of this course, it is aimed to teach the theories, usage and the properties of of modern spectral analysis methods and techniques together with to use such these techniques for organic, bioorganic, drug analysis and elucidation of the structure of bioactive compounds.

Course Content

Infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and 2D-COSY, DEPT, APT, HETCOR, HMQC and NOE techniques, interpretation of spectra and their use in structure determination. X-ray spectroscopy (XRD, XRF), Mass spectrometry (MS), Capillary electrophoresis, Tandem Spectral Analysis Methods; Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and Gas Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS / MS), Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass / Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS / MS) , Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS, Capillary Electrophoresis-Mass Spectrometry (CE-MS), Other Combined Spectral Analysis System, Combined Spectral Analysis Methods in the analysis of pharmaceutical, bioorganic, biomaterial and bioactive systems
