Course Goal / Objective

In this course, where the basic stages of a scientific research and different research patterns are defined, it is aimed to provide students with the skills of formulating a scientific research problem, scanning sources, learning sampling, measurement and scaling methods, evaluating data collection and analysis techniques, and preparing a research report in accordance with scientific ethical rules. .

Course Content

This course covers research methods in social sciences. Students will first be introduced to the theoretical foundations of scientific research, then learn the research design process and different research designs. This is followed by sampling, measuring and scaling, and data collection techniques. Next, the focus will be on qualitative and quantitative research designs and data analysis. Descriptive analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, content analysis and case study will be introduced as data analysis methods. Finally, scientific research ethics and how to write a research report will be covered.
