Course Goal / Objective

To describe the physical efficiency of soils, to investigate soil water and pF curve models, to explain the hysterical events in the soil and the dynamic processes of soil water, to explain the limits of the Darsy law and to examine the heat flow in the soil and to explain various improvement measures in the soil.

Course Content

Physical efficiency; Porous Soil Environment and pore geometry; Theoretical foundations and special problems related to soil texture and structure; Soil water content and types, potential, usefulness; pF curve and its mathematical model; Hysteresis in the soil, desorption, sorption events; Hydraulic conductivity under saturated and unsaturated conditions; Water flow in the soil, infiltration; Soil temperature and heat flow in soil; Loss of fertility of soils (degradation); Soil regulators and their usability in soil.
