Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the birth and development of Modern Turkey and to provide accurate information about the Atatürkist Thought System, the History of the Republic of Turkey and the threats to Turkey and the practices of the Atatürkist Thought System; to raise, strengthen and unite the Turkish youth in line with the Atatürkist Thought System in an indivisible unity with its country, nation and state; to raise individuals who are rational, contemporary, honorable, hard-working, full of love for the country and nation, and who have a personality consisting of tolerant and humanistic ideas.

Course Content

In this course, the proclamation of the Republic and political, social and cultural revolutions, economic breakthroughs, problems that the Lausanne Peace Treaty could not solve and their finalization, movements against the new order, attempts at multi-party life and their results, Turkish Foreign Policy during the Atatürk period, the İnönü period and the years of World War II, Turkey's transition to multi-party life, the Democrat Party period and after, Kemalism and Atatürk's Principles are discussed.
