Course Goal / Objective
To examine the simulation technique as an analysis and modeling approach in industrial engineering problems. In this course, both the creation of simulation models in computer environment and statistical analysis methods used in simulation will be emphasized.
Course Content
Basic Simulation Concepts, Discrete Event Simulation and Modeling Structures, Selection of Probability Distributions, Hypothesis Tests, Random Number Generators and Random Number Generation from Distributions, Analysis of Simulation Software and SIMAN Simulation Language and ARENA Model Development Environment, ARENA Examples and Applications, Validity Tests of Simulation Models, Output Analysis and Comparison of Alternative System Designs, Variance Reduction Techniques
