Course Goal / Objective

At the end of this course, students will be able to explain pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic concepts of drug administration, the passage of drugs from biological membranes and absorption, distribution of drugs, biotransformation of drugs, drug excretion of drugs, receptors and drug-receptor relationship, dose-concentration relationship, effect of drugs on drugs change factors, interactions between drugs, toxic effects of drugs and basic concepts of toxicology, acute drug poisoning will have information about the principles of treatment.

Course Content

Introduction to pharmacology, drug administration routes, drug absorbsition, drug distribution, drug biotransformation, drug elimination, receptor, drug-receptor interactions, dose-concentration relationship, mechanism of action of drugs, factors that change drugs' effects, toxic effects of drugs and basic terminology of toxicology, concepts of acute drug poisoning treatments, rules of writing prescriptions and rational drug use.
