Course Goal / Objective
To describe zooplankton and zooplankton groups to know the role of zooplankton in marine food chain and understand their relations with lower and upper trophic levels to gain information about ecology of marine zooplankton.
Course Content
In this course, definition of zooplankton, groups of marine zooplankton, zooplankton taxonomy, protozooplankton and metazooplankton groups, the role of zooplankton in marine food chain, relationships of zooplankton with upper and lower trophic level, zooplankton ecology, relations of zooplankton with pollution, the importance of zooplankton in monitoring studies are taught with theoretical lessons and examples.
