Course Goal / Objective

To equip students with the ability to identify chemical risk factors in occupational health and safety, assess exposure pathways, analyze toxicological effects, and develop risk management strategies.

Course Content

Classification of chemical risk factors, sources and pathways of occupational exposure, toxicology and health effects of chemicals, occupational exposure limits, chemical risk assessment methods, risk control hierarchy, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ventilation and engineering controls, national and international occupational health and safety regulations, chemical accidents, and emergency management.

Course Precondition

Students are expected to have a fundamental understanding of biological treatment processes and microbiology.
