Course Goal / Objective
The primary objective of this course is to enable students to understand the fundamental concepts of art and aesthetics and enhance their critical thinking skills. Topics include aesthetic judgments, the social and individual functions of art, fundamental problems of the philosophy of art, beauty and taste, the relationship between evolutionary psychology and art, and contemporary aesthetic approaches. Students will develop a critical perspective on the nature of art by analyzing art theories, discussing philosophical texts, and critically interpreting artworks.
