Course Goal / Objective
The aims of the this lesson are determine the installation location of the solar energy, prepare the mounting location, collector assembly, water tank mounting and maintenance and repair of the solar energy installation.
Course Content
Solar and solar energy, greenhouse effect, classification of solar energy application areas, solar energy applications, space cooling, solar cooking, electricity generation system, central receiver power plants, passive heating systems, solar radiation coming to the earth (direct, diffuse, reflected), total solar radiation, solar radiation measurements (Pyranometer, pyrheliometer), solar energy collectors, planar solar collectors (Transparent cover, absorber plate, heat insulation, collector case), collector efficiency tests, collector durability tests, vacuum solar collectors (Glass tube, absorber surface, heat transfer fluid, heat pipes, manifold system), vacuum solar collector types (Open system, closed system), glass vacuum pipe, vacuum pipe with heat pipe, superconducting metal vacuum pipe, condensing systems, solar hot water systems, natural circulation systems, forced circulation systems, open circulation systems, closed circulation systems, solar energy project design of hot water systems, automatic control, system design, collector direction and inclination angles, solar cooling, water distillation, drying, greenhouse heating, space heating, solar ovens and cookers, things to consider in the installation of solar water heating systems, pipes and armature connections, single tank, double tank, series connection, parallel connection, thickelman connection, air evacuation in the installation, pressure drop in the collectors.
